Since starting Vintage Golf Wear in 2017 I’ve noticed a plethora of brands and influencers really embrace this small niche in the golf space.
What was once a relatively small corner of the golf world has grown into a community of people who appreciate the history, traditions, and timeless style of the game. From high-waisted Sansabelt trousers and hard collars to high crowned lids, golfers are embracing the looks that made this great game of golf so iconic.
But something was missing. A vintage golf outfit wasn’t complete until you laced up a proper pair of clickity clackers.
The Shoes Make the Outfit
For me, the right pair of golf shoes can make an entire outfit. The Sansabelts can be spot on with a perfect razor sharp crease and a hard collar shirt at Horaltic Pose, but if the shoes ain’t right no one is buying it.
That’s one of the reasons I’ve become such a fan of Lambda Golf shoes.
Why Lambda Gets It Right
For me, Lambda is a brand that gets it right. I’ve worn their shoes, and I’m a huge fan of both the Roma und Ferrara styles. The premium European leather gives them that refined, timeless look that I’m always drawn to, while the traditional broguing adds the kind of classic character that makes you feel like Doug Sanders sashaying down the fairway.
Then there’s the cork-covered footbed on the Ferrara, which is another detail worth appreciating. It reflects the thought that goes into the construction of the shoe, bringing an element of traditional shoemaking into a golf shoe designed for today’s game.
Stay Vintage
The vintage golf movement isn’t going anywhere. If anything, it’s getting bigger, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it continues to grow. In the meantime, I’ll keep wearing the styles I love, celebrating the history of the game, and encouraging more golfers to appreciate the timeless looks that make golf fashion so special.
Sometimes, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You just need a great pair of Lambda Golf shoes.
